Day 8 Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis (22 km) Sept 10th

The Pilgrim's Sanctuary in Pontevedra as we leave this morning...
Leaving over the medieval bridge, built on Roman foundations.
The portrait of Santiago (St James) in tile on a home as we leave Pontevedra draws a lot of attention.
Today is a day with a lot of shady walkways and paths to follow.
I make a friend along the way who holds my pack while I take a break.
A popular resting stop along the way and time for a cafe con leche.
Apparently these boots have walked far enough...
The message was clear...
A nice rest stop for lunch along the way. Linda took her shoes off during lunch and couldn't get them back on again...and she's dealing with blisters as well, so resorted to sandals for the duration of the day:
She spurned ideas of taking a taxi, or at least sending her pack ahead in a taxi. She is such a trooper and is determined to get to Santiago under her own steam. A new tape job on her toes and she is good to go!
A heartening sign along the way lets us know we are getting close. We should be in Santiago in two more days.
