April 29, 2016 - Via Francigena Day 13

Aquapendente to Bolsena (22.1 km)

...but on other days the grass does grow, the flowers bloom, and the sky is blue...

A beautiful sunny day in Aquapendente and with market day in full swing, and Cheryl feeling fine, having her pack sent ahead, we ambled out of town in the morning.

A look back at Aquapendente

On this beautiful day we walked past fields of flowers and meadows.  After 10.5 km we stopped in San Lorenzo Nuovo for lunch and gelato and then headed towards beautiful Lake Bolsena, following hillside paths that led us eventually to the fields of flowers that brought us into the lakeside town of Bolsena.

End of a perfect day!

Relaxing lakeside
We plan to take the next day as a rest day, exploring this town with it's beautiful lakeside setting.
